Bas van Koolwijk
Bas van Koolwijk
Bas van Koolwijk (NL) began his artistic career as a painter, but soon found this medium too limited to express the colour and motion he envisioned. Around 2000 he began interchanging the analogue and numerical codes of the sounds and images of various video formats and now works with video errors and digital code to create his sound and image interactions. His work can be seen as an aggressive attack on the illusion of video itself. He uses self-made software and hardware applications in live performances, installations and video compositions.
