Pedro Maia

Pedro Maia (PT) has showed his work at several film festivals and galleries such as Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Split Film Festival, Rencontres Internationales, Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art, MACBA Barcelona, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and many others. Since 2004 Maia has been working within the boundaries of live cinema, manipulating images in real time and interacting with sound. He has collaborated with several musicians, including Panda Bear, Lee Ranaldo, Fennesz, Jacaszek, Demdike Stare, Vessel, Sandro Perri, Pole, Shackleton, Tropic of Cancer, and Craig Leon. Maia has also performed in festivals/venues such as Serralves Contemporary Art Museum, Sónar Festival, Unsound Festival Krakow/NY, All Tomorrow’s Party, and Mutek.

Jacaszek & Kwartludium: 'Catalogue des Arbres'

Instrumental and voice improvisations by the Kwartludium ensemble are set against an organic drone of outdoor recordings by Jacaszek, resulting in subdued and sparse electroacoustic soundscapes.
