Field Recording Workshop

From 10–13 February 2016, Sonic Acts hosts a four-day field-recording workshop aimed at artists, composers and musicians with a background in sound and field recording who would like to expand their understanding and awareness of sound, and enhance their recording skills and their use of environmental sound. The workshop is practice-oriented, and focuses on the methods and processes involved in artistic research.

Voice Odder Workshop

For this workshop, Polish electronic noise artist Ewa Justka will guide you through the creation of a unique, multi-faceted electronic instrument and effects unit, The Voice Odder, which is a compact, voice-altering device inspired by William S. Burroughs’ claim that ‘the word is a virus’. Participants will learn the functions of basic electronic components and how to build electronic circuits. The workshop is for beginners, but experienced participants will have fun as well!

During the 2-day #Additivism workshop Morehshin Allahyari and Daniel Rourke explain how 3D fabrication can be thought of as the critical framework of #Additivism: a movement that aims to disrupt material, social, computational, and metaphysical realities through provocation, collaboration, and ‘weird’ / science fiction thinking.
