Critical Writing Workshop

Sonic Acts will be running a public facing, online publication as part of the Sonic Acts Academy from 26–28 February 2016. Participants will have the opportunity to interview artists, musicians and speakers participating in the event, and be guided in producing strong critical writing on art, music and culture. The weekend will begin with an intensive session that examines what good writing is, with exercises that will help you to become more confident about your writing and prompt you to think about how critical writing differs from other writing styles. Every participant will write a number of short pieces during the festival, including essays, histories and interviews, which will test the participants’ writing skills and form a basis for one-on-one feedback. Enrolement The workshop hosts a maximum of 7 emerging European bloggers, journalists, critics and writers active or interested in the field of interdisciplinary arts (media arts, film, visual arts, performance). Applicants are asked to submit a short motivation and CV to write[@]sonicacts[.]com. The deadline for applications is 5 February 2016. Fee Participants pay a €40,- contribution. Lunches will be provided.
