Sonic Acts Academy publication now for sale
In context of the Sonic Acts Academy, Sonic Acts published a 64-page ’zine’, which contains a beautifully designed and printed collection of short essays, manifestos, statements and visual contributions that provide invaluable insights into the exploration conducted and during the Academy.
Looking back on first edition Sonic Acts Academy
The first edition of Sonic Acts Academy has ended. We look back proudly on an opening night with performances at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, five workshops and two days of presentations celebrating today’s artistic practices at de Brakke Grond, and an invigorating line-up at Paradiso that had visitors dancing into the early hours.
Critical Writing Blog
The Critical Writing Workshop, led by Jennifer Lucy Allan, took place in tandem with the Sonic Acts Academy. The Critical Writing Workshop embodies a core concept of the Academy: a space for discussion and a platform for dialogue, while sharing knowledge and developing critical perspectives.

Call for Applicants: Atmospheric Feedback Loops Workshop - Susan Schuppli
On 25 and 26 February 2016, Sonic Acts hosts a two-day workshop led by artist and researcher Susan Schuppli. For this very special workshop, the participants will visit the Cabauw Experimental Site for Atmospheric Research (Cesar). Application deadline is 12 February 2016.
Call for Applicants: Voice Odder Workshop with Ewa Justka
On Friday 26 February Polish electronic noise artist Ewa Justka will lead a Voice Odder Workshop. She will guide participants through the creation of a unique, multi-faceted electronic instrument and effects unit, The Voice Odder, which is a compact, voice-altering device inspired by William S. Burroughs’ claim that ‘the word is a virus’. Application deadline 12 February!

Call for Applicants: #Additivism Workshop
3D printing promises to become a widespread material language, allowing anything that can be stored as a digital template to be realised. During the 2-day #Additivism workshop Morehshin Allahyari and Daniel Rourke explain how 3D fabrication can be thought of as the critical framework of #Additivism: a movement that aims to disrupt material, social, computational, and metaphysical realities through provocation, collaboration, and ‘weird’ / science fiction thinking.
