ANGEL-HO
Angel-Ho
Angel-Ho is a South African club producer and co-founder of NON Records, a community of artists that explores Pan-African identity through electronic music and performance. Creating a safe space for queer and transgender people of colour through soundscape performance is what motivates Angel-Ho. Viewing club culture from the perspective of a non-binary queer, Angel-Ho aims to ‘decolonise’ its increasingly heteronormative spaces and to reclaim queer narratives lost in the mainstreaming of club culture. Angel-Ho is from Kensington, Cape Town, and studied Fine Arts at the University of Cape Town. NON Records, which was founded together with Chino Amobi and Nkisi, is the far-reaching arm of the sovereign state of NON, a community of artists from Africa and the African diaspora whose citizens reside in villages, towns, and cities across the globe. NON cuts across genres and geography to unite politically and sonically forward-thinking musicians.
