Kontraste 2011
Kontraste presents cutting-edge sonic and audiovisual experiments, contemporary music and related art forms in a thematic, historical and interdisciplinary context. The comprehensive programme offers a unique festival experience with unconventional concerts, live performances, installations, lectures, screenings and presentations that explore a broad range of fields and practices. Kontraste benefits from its special regional setting and location, and presents a strong international line-up. The festival highlights the characteristics of its main venue, the medieval church, Minoritenkirche Krems. The new Kontraste Festival Imaginary Landscapes took place for the first time from 14 to 16 October 2011 in Krems, Austria. Kontraste capitalized on the synergy of its special regional location and setting in combination with a strong international line-up. Kontraste 2011 was curated by Sonic Acts. The festival highlighted the characteristics of its main venue, the medieval church Klangraum Krems Minoritenkirche, and collaborated with various arts and cultural venues and stage manifestations in public spaces throughout the city.
