SONIC ACTS FESTIVAL 2017 Maryam Monalisa Gharavi - Face/Less: Human, Inhuman, Abhuman 24 February 2017 - De Brakke Grond, Amsterdam, The Netherlands --- In the hypervisible age, the face affords evidence of a singular human self, while the covered face triggers suspicion of an inhuman or ‘abhuman’ entity. Maryam Monalisa Gharavi’s lecture surveys the simulacra and surveillance of our most politically and aesthetically potent organ: the face. Maryam Monalisa Gharavi is an artist, writer, and theorist.
