Sonic Acts Academy 2018
Welcome to the blog for the 2018 Sonic Acts Critical Writing Workshop. This year’s Sonic Acts Academy interrogates ideas of knowledge production, and many presentations articulate issues arising from the inside and the outside; the visible and the invisible; heard and inaudible. The workshop runs throughout the festival, and participants respond to the presentations and performances they encounter during the Academy. We will be looking at how these themes create tensions, challenging our understanding of subjects like global logistics and networked infrastructures; concepts of education and learning, and broader philosophical concepts of time and place. This year’s participants are: Alina Lupu, Ania Prokop, Dulce da Rocha Goncalves, Iskra Vukšić, Jaime Schwartz, Nicolaas Vieler and Linnea Langfjord. The writing team is led by writer and researcher Jennifer Lucy Allan, and Katia Truijen.
