TRAVEL
The airport closest to Amsterdam is Schiphol Airport. The fastest way to get to Amsterdam Central Station – and the city centre – is by train (15 minutes). More information about train travel in the Netherlands can be found here or use this door-to-door travel planner (both in English). The majority of our venues this year are in Amsterdam-Noord. From the back exit of Amsterdam Central Station you can catch the ferry to Amsterdam-Noord. This service is free of charge and runs frequently (even through the night).
Bike rental
The most efficient way of transportation is by bike, like the locals. TIP (Tourist Information Point) Noord Amsterdam will offer a 10% discount for Sonic Acts visitors, simply show your ticket at their rental desk. Just take the Buiksloterweg ferry behind Amsterdam Central Station and you will see it under the Tolhuistuin. More information about other bike rental companies can be found here.
Public transportation
For travelling by public transportation you can buy an OV-chip card from Central Station. With this card you must check in and check out when boarding or disembarking from a tram, bus, or metro. You can also purchase a disposable card for one hour (€2,90), for a single day (€7,50) or for multiple days (3 days for €16,50). One hour and single day cards can be purchased with the driver / conductor in the bus, metro and tram. For all information on public transport in Amsterdam visit the GVB website (in English).
FOOD
On Saturday and Sunday, Sonic Acts will serve lunch packages at Dansmakers from INAT Kantine. For only €4,50 you can enjoy a fresh, vegetarian meal, such as falafel or pasta salad. You can reserve lunch tickets here.
