Karl Lemieux
Karl Lemieux’s (CA) films, installations, and performances have been shown internationally in museums, galleries, music venues and film festivals. He is more widely known as the ninth member of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, a Montreal music collective for whom he does live 16 mm film projections. His collaborators include sound artists such as Philip Jeck, BJ Nilsen, Francisco Lopez, Roger Tellier-Craig and Alexandre St-Onges. Together with Daïchi Saïto he founded Double Negative Collective, a Montreal-based group dedicated to the production and dissemination of experimental films.

The Earth is constantly bombarded by cosmic rays, but is now also shrouded in all kinds of anthropogenic radiation. The electromagnetic footprint of human activity on Earth is enormous. All of this radiation is invisible and usually inaudible. More and more artists are beginning to explore various forms of radation in their work. The panel is moderated by Nik Gaffney.
