Sonic Acts Festival completes lineup with Kode9, Mumdance & Logos and Visionist

The final three names - Kode9, Mumdance & Logos and Visionist - complete the Sonic Acts Festival lineup. Previous confirmations for the programme in Paradiso on Saturday 28 February include: John Foxx & Steve D'Agostino, Shxcxchcxsh, Jaki Liebezeit & Burnt Friedman, Shackleton, Le Révélateur, Robert Curgenven, Grischa Lichtenberger, Jacaszek & Kwartludium, and Shapednoise with sYn visuals. London-based electronic music artist, DJ, and owner of the Hyperdub record label Kode9 is one of the founding members of the early dubstep scene. His DJ sets and radio shows helped spread the early dubstep sound internationally, but his sets now weave together a bass heavy mix of house, garage, dubstep, grime, footwork and hip hop. He is also author of the book Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear (2009). Both Mumdance and Logos, two of grime’s best, have soared over the last two years. Mumdance, aka Jack Adams, has been releasing music for some time, but appeared reborn on his Twists & Turns mixtape. Logos, production alias of James Parker, released his debut album Cold Mission last year. Their collaboration resulted in energised and stripped down tracks, true to their non-conformance. They recently launched a new ambient label Different Circles. Soundcloud Mumdance Souncloud Logos London producer Visionist (aka Louis Carnell) is perhaps best known as the Lit City Trax and PAN Records affiliate who makes music inspired by grime. What makes his music so interesting is the fact that he's not a classicist; grime may be at the center of his artistic vision, but his tracks often bare traces of hip-hop, future garage, dubestep, R&B, footwork, and other urban sounds from across the Atlantic.
