Paul Bogard
Paul Bogard
Paul Bogard (US) is Assistant Professor of English at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he teaches creative nonfiction and environmental literature. A native Minnesotan, Bogard grew up watching the stars and moon from a lake in the northern part of the state. This experience clearly became an inspiration for his book The End of Night: Searching for Natural Darkness in an Age of Artificial Light (2013), in which Bogard reflects on matters related to ecology and urban development. Something between a personal memoir, a travel book and scientific observation of nature, this work is a call to defend the night.
